www.abi.com.pl As I mentioned before, it was rainy time. My plans and actions were subordinated to weather; the same was with time!
I have entered town from the South. As I could spend there only half a day, I decided just to wader around the area of central Medina to see how locals are living! The weather was merciful, so I could cycle freely all over and see what I wanted. Once again my bike showed its advantage; I could see more things than thanks to the speed than I could achieve by walking, which takes much more time.
Meknes supposed to be very beautiful, but it made on me only a moderate impression; maybe, if I could stay a bit longer, it would be deferent. The biggest advantage of town is always the amount and the variety of food available at street stalls. Since I was already fed up of Tadżin, the main meal available everywhere in this country, I was curious to try something else and as cheap. I was strolling here and there with a mouth full of various snacks and fast food dishes.
In the evening I left the town, cycling around 1 hour in the dark just to find a quiet place to sleep far from town. It wasn't the easiest thing to do; I had to sleep under some roof of a eatery off the main road. More or less, I had a quiet night. The next day I have been punished for all this food orgy in Meknes; I was totally sick. I did only 50 km and stopped to take a hotel room. It was so bed; fiver, tiredness and diarrhoea just won! Sidi Kacem was my prison for the next two days and the hotel room was my shelter. When I went to the hospital, I had the shortest medical examination ever. He didn't speak English, my French was poor. His diagnose was a bit like gambling, but 10 days of antibiotic treatment cured me. Since I was feeling better, on the 3th day I left the place. The only advantage of all this break was a bit better weather with southern wind.
