It had to be a fast run. The weather was going to break very soon, so I was trying to do as much kilometers as I could each day. Following Gorges do Ziz, I reached the town called Rich where I spend my first night. The next day, I went up to the first pass Col du Tizi Ntalaghaumt (1907m). The weather was still stable, although the wind was blowing hard from the South, bringing some casual drips of rain. The higher I was going, the colder it was getting and the more trees I could see. Although it was a hard work, I was very happy; I could spot some more greenery.

Among the mountains, the view looked pretty much as in Central Asia; even shepherds with their dogs were similar. Some angry dogs even chased me and one of which almost bit my tyre. All this reminded me of my three-month trek along the main range of the Carpathian Mountains in 2002. On the way down I had some mild snow blizzards and I had to camp very high up, only 20 km before Col du Zad (2178), so the next day I could reach the pass before the weather would totally break down.

Meanwhile I was preparing my diner on really poor fire, I could admire the spectacle of clouds pushed by the wind through the mountain peaks covered with snow. I remember it was a very cold night. I had to wear all my clothes, not to mention the sleeping bag.

The following morning my bottles with potable water were completely frozen. I set the fire and after the breakfast I climbed to the pass. The way down was very long. This time I got caught in the snowbols storm- very short but intensive. All this got into my shorts, since I didn't have proper long bicycle trousers yet; however, it gave me an excitement and probably even more excitement for very surprised passengers in their cars.

As I made my way to the other side of the range, it started raining densely. It was the beginning of a very different ride, for sure, without sunny and dry days.
