THE SPONSOR OF MY BICYCLE SPARE PARTS IS COMPANY PRODUCING FINE BICYCLE SADDLES
www.abi.com.pl Windhoek is my last stop in more or less civilisation. I can buy spare parts for my bicycle here and fix things which might bother me on my way further.
It is also a place with quite fast and reliable internet access.
I have been updating and uploading my blog for something like 5 days. Using mostly the National Library where the internet is avaible for free, but not without limitations from the staff working there. The laziness and ignorance of these people can make you really frustrated.
Unfortunately, mostly because of the holiday season I didn't find a host from CS and HC in Windhoek so I had to sleep whereever I could find a place to camp which wasn't so easy with the rainy season in full swing!!
Once, I slept under a roof of a huge church. But the next day I was fortunate enough to meet a really nice person who later on apeared to be from a royal family, and she invited me to her house.
It was a good way to get to know this country and it's people!!
Here, getting visas (like always in this country) is a mess. 4 weeks before when I was asking do I need a visa in the Botswanan embassy I was told that, yes I do and it cost 500 ND. Now, I have come here and they told me that the Polish have not needed a visa since 2009!!
The Zambian embassy appears to be easier to deal with, but I will get the visa on the border which will make things easier, I think.
So after finishing all my things to do "before going on" I will proceed further east to Botswana and Zambia.
It is raining every day here in Windhoek, usually in the afternoon and in the night time. Everywhere is much more green and there are some long dry rivers which finally have received water after the dry season.
When I'm watching the weather forecast it doesn't look too optimistic all over the north and east with rainfall forecast widespread. It looks like it will be wet cycling for me from now on!
