www.abi.com.pl I got to Lake Bosomtwe through the hills which took my last fluids in sweat. With great hope I approached the Lake to have a swim and maybe relaxing for a couple of hours...but no... there was a ridiculous entry fee, for the pleasure of having to cycle all the way up the hills and back! I was not impressed with the thought of paying Cedis for my own sweat!!!
In the end I had a look from a distance and went off to Kumasi!!!
I did have completely different plans for my visit to Kumasi than what actually eventuated.
I had been planning to do some clubbing and enjoy the night life in the region's capital city but my host gave me a wrong number and I had to change my plans to just one day cycling through the city to see the sites!!!
The King's Palace is boring although it is worth checking out if you would like to know some more about the Ashanti history. The Cultural Center is quite interesting and a quiet peaceful oasis in the centre of the noisy city!!
The Central Market really is as huge as the local people and guides say. It is the biggest in West Africa!! I have even managed to find a whole street of bicycle shops and found a semi-slick tyre for my bike!!
Although I spent only one day there it was very productive and I did really enjoyed it.
With hopes to come back for some clubbing, I cycled out of town with the winds blowing on my back, on my way to the North!
"Up, up and away"!!!
